The Nutcracker

When Hanna was two my mom bought the three of us tickets to The Nutcracker.  None of us had ever been before, and we loved it!  It was our plan to make this a Christmas tradition.  We did for the next 4 years.  However, the last 3 years we missed it.  Something always seemed to get in the way and we just didn’t make it a priority to go.  I decided this year to make sure I made time for taking Hanna again.  She asks each year to go.  My mom wasn’t able to come with us—hopefully next year, but Hanna and I had so much fun together.

Hanna looked so pretty and I made sure to get some pictures of her before we left home.

I also got Jamie to take a couple of the two of us together.

I had forgotten how much I enjoy the performance of The Nutcracker—how much I love seeing the costumes, the graceful dancers and the way it feels so magical, the story itself.

Hanna loved every minute of the show.  She seemed so grown up in her actions, demeanor and in talking with me while we were out.  I had so many memories run through my mind of the first time my mom and I took Hanna 8 years ago.  I can even remember what Hanna wore.  I am so thankful to have a daughter to do these things with.  I love my boys very much, but I am a “girly girl” and love sharing these special moments with Hanna.

I hope we will once again make this a Christmas tradition!

  5. Susana, you and your family are just so beautiful. I love what you wrote about Hannah acting so grown up - it brought tears to my eyes to imagine how bittersweet that must've been for you. God bless you and your lovely family.

  6. I love the pictures - I think Hannah looks so much like you. I am still debating on whether to take Anna to see Nutcracker this year, but I definitely want this to be her first theater experience.
